It seems like Japan is being nice to us because a few of my favourite dramas and animes are getting their own live action movies!! ♥

For instance, Byakuyako (aka "Journey Under a Midnight Sun") is getting it's own movie *does the happy dance* It also stars Horikita Maki. Did I get your attention now? I know she has quite a few fans ^^~~
Most of you probably don't know this, but Byakuyako is one of my most favourite dramas, ever! The first episode it pretty long and it can seem boring for the first 3 episodes or so but if you pay attention and keep watching, I GUARANTEE you'll be sucked in later on. The story is pretty twisted and dark and definitely unlike your typical jdrama. It explores aspects of humanity and makes you wonder and question how far someone will go for love. I highly recommend this jdrama but be prepared for a very dark plotline.

I have to say I was initially not interested in Hayate the Combat Butler until I found out Park Shin Hye and George Hu was going to be in it. I've loved Park Shin Hye since watching Tree of Heaven and George Hu was in my favourite Rainie drama, ToGetHer.
Speaking of Rainie, congratulations to my bias for winning Best Leading Actress in a Television Series at the Golden Bell Awards earlier last month ♥ ♥ ♥ She totally deserved it but it was a bitter sweet win since Show Luo didn't win best leading male for their drama Hi! My Sweetheart :(

One boy kills his father to save his first love. One girl takes the life of her mother to protect the boy. The two commit a crime to hide another, and move on with life, turning their backs against the sun. They are forbidden to hold hands. Sharing each other’s crime is their token of love - believing that someday, the sun will shine upon them from behind the clouds.There's also a 2009 kmovie adaptation, White Night, which was not bad. I'll admit I was disappointed after watching it but it's hard to beat the original; especially when they had 11 episodes to develop the story whereas the movie only had a little over 2 hours.

Mars is a superstar whose popularity went downhill after a series of negative publicity. His finances went into red alert and he had to find a new place to live. He ended up renting a place from Mo Mo, his homebody landlord. He befriended her and her childhood friend Jia Sen, a swimming captain with the intelligence of an 8-year-old.
It's seriously such a good drama, very mellow and down to earth. Usually Taiwanese idol dramas irritate me with the crappy and overly exaggerated acting, but this has none of that. I absolutely loved every moment of this drama!
Jiro and Rainie were a joy to watch. I really, really, really hope they will collaborate again in the future. I know there's tonsss of RainiexMike shippers out there but I'd have to say RainiexJiro is what it's all about for me :D

ReplyDeleteParadise Kiss is a Warner Brother's production?! (no idea why I'm so surprised lol maybe it's because I'm not used to seeing 100% Asian movies being produced by Warner's...) But the teaser looks so good! I want to go see it ^__^ kind of reminds me a bit of Devil Wears Prada? Maybe just because of the fashion part XD but I love NANA so I'm anticipating this to be a good movie too ^__^

Have you seen Hi!My Sweet Heart? If you did, which one do you like better, to get her or the sweet heart one? I like Rainie a lot too but I think I will only want to pick one to watch XD

ReplyDeleteThe male lead in Paradise Kiss looks so much like Seno-san in Hotaru no Hikari 2. I'm too lazy to go look it up atm. But it looks good. I'm also sure I started ToGetHer but I didn't finish watching it, I forget why. But I have to admit I'm a RainiexMike fan but that's because I haven't watched any RainiexJiro. I think I will have to soon.
*sigh* You pretty much made my to-watch list, lol. Now I have to decide the order.

ReplyDeleteFrances You should definitely watch Journey Under a Midnight Sun... I think you would really like it but like I said... the first few eps might be boring for some... but it's needed to get all the back story and to set everything up.
I have watched Hi! My Sweetheart. Personally I prefer ToGetHer but... Hi My Sweetheart is really good too. I just liked ToGetHer more because it was less dramatic and I liked the acting more. Hi My Sweetheart definitely enjoyed more commercial success though.
&& Thanks for getting back to me ♥ I recently bought Prestige... (was on sale) and I think I'm finally getting the hang of liquid liner. I'm definitely more interested in trying out Dolly Wink. You enabeller ♥!! Lol.
